Newly appointed Minister for Defence, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has pledged to bring renewed energy, humility and a strong sense of duty to his new assignment as he takes charge of Ghana’s defence architecture.
Mr. Adjei, who has been moved from the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources as part of President John Dramani Mahama’s first ministerial reshuffle, expressed gratitude to the President for the confidence reposed in him to serve in another strategic area of government.
Describing the transition as “a new chapter of service,” the Minister said he was looking forward to contributing meaningfully to the government’s efforts to build a stronger and more secure Ghana.
“I am profoundly grateful to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in me and the opportunity to serve the people of Ghana as Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources,” he stated.
Reflecting on his tenure at the Works, Housing and Water Resources Ministry, Mr. Adjei said his time there had been characterised by service, learning and collaboration, with a shared commitment to delivering on the government’s mandate.
He commended the staff of the Ministry for their hard work, professionalism and unwavering support, saying the achievements recorded during his tenure were the product of collective effort.
“The progress and successes we achieved together would not have been possible without your commitment and sacrifice,” he said.
Mr. Adjei said he was assuming his new responsibility at the Defence Ministry with “humility, renewed energy and a deep sense of duty,” while expressing optimism about the road ahead.
“I look forward to contributing meaningfully to our collective efforts to build a stronger and more secure Ghana,” he added.
The new Defence Minister also expressed appreciation to Ghanaians for their continued support, goodwill and prayers, saying their encouragement remained a source of strength as he continued his public service.
He called on stakeholders to remain focused and committed to the national interest as he begins his new assignment.
“The work continues. Let us keep our sleeves rolled up, remain focused and work even harder to deliver for Ghana,” Mr. Adjei said.
He further called for collective effort as the country enters what he described as a new chapter of service.
“I call on all hands to be on deck as we embrace this new chapter of service together,” he added.
Mr. Adjei concluded his message with a pledge centred on national service, saying: “For Ghana. For Service. For Progress.”
