Sene East MP Dominic Napare Secures Seat in ECOWAS Parliament

Dominic Napare, currently serving as a four term Member of Parliament for Sene East in the Bono East region, has been nominated to serve as a member of the eight-member Ghanaian delegation to the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) Parliament in Abuja, Nigeria.

The experience lawmaker is expected to bring his rich background to bear as he represent the country at the regional parliament.

Hon Napare served on several committees of the House including the Local Government and Rural Development, Education and Ways and Means committees of the House.

He also served as the Vice Chairperson of the Poverty Reduction Strategy Committee; Member of the Parliamentry Affairs, House, Privileges Committees of the House.

Mr Napare who hails from Kajaji in the Bono East Region obtained Master of Public Administration degree from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

He also attended the University of Education, Winneba where he obtained a Bachelor of Education degree in Management and Secretarial Studies.

Mr Dominic Napare was the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Sene East District from 28 April 2009 to 2012.

Ghana’s delegation to the ECOWAS Parliament would be led by Deputy Majority leader, Kweku George Ricketts-Hagan.

Other members are; Deputy Minority leader, Patricia Appiagyei, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, Ayii Laadi Ayamba, Eric Afful, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, Bryan Acheampong and Millicent Yeboah Amankwah as an observer.
