Members of Ghana’s legislature have been formally recalled to resume parliamentary business, following a notice issued by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
The notice, dated May 4, 2026, announces the commencement of the Second Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
According to the directive, Members of Parliament are expected to reconvene on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Parliament of Ghana in Accra.
Citing Order 58 of the Standing Orders of the House, the Speaker emphasized that the recall is in line with established parliamentary procedures governing sittings and legislative business.
The upcoming meeting is expected to mark the continuation of key legislative activities including the consideration of bills such as the ANTI-LGBTQ+ bill and oversight of executive actions.
