The Ghana Chamber of Mines has welcomed the Government’s decision to implement a 12-month roadmap aimed at reviving Adamus Resources Limited, describing the development as a significant step towards resolving the impasse surrounding one of Ghana’s few indigenous large-scale mining operations.
The Chamber said the agreement, which will be supported by a six-member joint management team, demonstrates a commitment to dialogue, investor confidence and the preservation of productive mining assets.
In a statement issued on Friday, August 21, 2026, the Chamber commended the Government for the breakthrough and said the successful revival of Adamus Resources would have wider implications for Ghana’s mining economy.
“As one of Ghana’s few indigenous large-scale mining operations, the successful revival of Adamus Resources is important for protecting jobs, sustaining local businesses and host communities, and preserving its contribution to government revenue and the wider mining value chain,” the Chamber said.
The industry association also commended the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and the leadership of the Minerals Commission for their efforts in reaching what it described as a practical way forward.
It further acknowledged Adamus Resources Limited for its constructive engagement in efforts to resolve the dispute.
The Chamber, however, urged all parties to remain committed to the agreed roadmap, emphasising the need for transparency and accountability as the process moves into implementation.
It called for concerted efforts to address outstanding liabilities and secure the investment required to ensure the mine’s sustainable operation.
The development is expected to provide a pathway for restoring operations at Adamus Resources while safeguarding employment, supporting businesses within the mine’s host communities and preserving the mine’s contribution to Ghana’s broader mining value chain.
The Ghana Chamber of Mines said it remained ready to support efforts to protect investments and jobs, promote responsible local participation and strengthen the long-term contribution of mining to Ghana’s development.
