The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has recorded a sharp improvement in its financial performance, with net profit rising from GH¢178.48 million in 2024 to GH¢896.52 million in 2025, according to the 2025 State Ownership Report of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA).
The performance represents a 402.3 per cent increase in net profit, placing GoldBod among state-owned enterprises that recorded significant financial gains during the year under review.

The report also highlights a substantial expansion in GoldBod’s revenue, which reached GH¢5.55 billion in 2025, representing a reported 1,702.4 per cent year-on-year increase.
Beyond its improved profitability, GoldBod ended 2025 with a strong asset position, controlling total assets valued at approximately GH¢9.55 billion, according to the SIGA report.
The figures point to a major strengthening of the institution’s financial position as it assumes an increasingly prominent role in Ghana’s gold industry and the government’s efforts to formalise the gold trade.
Profit nearly quintuples
GoldBod’s 2025 net profit of GH¢896.52 million was almost five times the GH¢178.48 million recorded in 2024.
The dramatic improvement in profitability provides a strong indication of the Board’s positive financial momentum, particularly against the backdrop of its expanded operations and strategic role in Ghana’s gold value chain.
SIGA’s assessment specifically describes GoldBod’s performance as “positive momentum,” while highlighting its sustained profitability and growing financial base.
Revenue jumps to GH¢5.55bn
The revenue performance was equally striking.
GoldBod generated GH¢5.5538 billion in revenue in 2025, compared with the previous year’s figure, resulting in a reported 1,702.4 per cent year-on-year growth.
The substantial increase reflects the scale of GoldBod’s operations and its growing significance within Ghana’s gold trading ecosystem.
GH¢9.55bn asset base
GoldBod’s financial strength was further reflected in its balance sheet.
The SIGA report puts the Board’s total assets at GH¢9.55017 billion at the end of 2025, giving the institution a sizeable asset base to support its operations and future expansion.
The combination of higher revenues, stronger profitability and a substantial asset position provides a picture of an institution that has significantly strengthened its financial standing within a relatively short period.
A stronger state-owned enterprise
The latest figures reinforce GoldBod’s emergence as a financially significant state-owned institution at a time when Ghana is seeking to maximise the economic value of its gold resources.
The 2025 performance suggests that the Board is not only expanding its commercial footprint but is also generating substantial financial returns while building a stronger balance sheet.
With GH¢896.52 million in net profit, GH¢5.55 billion in revenue and GH¢9.55 billion in assets, GoldBod’s 2025 results represent a significant financial milestone and provide fresh evidence of the institution’s growing economic weight.
The figures also set a higher benchmark for GoldBod as it moves forward with its mandate to strengthen Ghana’s position in the gold value chain and capture greater value from the country’s gold resources.
