Kpando MP Drives Development Through Agriculture, Skills Training and Strategic Partnerships

The Member of Parliament for Kpando, Sebastian Deh, is steadily translating his development vision into tangible opportunities for constituents through strategic engagements aimed at accelerating economic growth, expanding agribusiness and creating employment opportunities for young people.

In recent days, the first-term legislator has intensified efforts to position Kpando at the centre of national development programmes by forging stronger links between local enterprises and key government ministries implementing transformative projects.
Mr Deh, who has consistently championed a development agenda anchored on agriculture, trade, industry, agribusiness and skills development, says his focus is to ensure that Kpando benefits directly from Ghana’s ongoing economic reset agenda.

As part of these efforts, he accompanied the Minister for Education in his capacity as Chairman of the Governing Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to commission a new girls’ dormitory block at Kukurantumi Technical Institute.
The project, according to him, underscores the importance of investing in technical and vocational education as a catalyst for empowering young people with employable skills.

Mr Deh also joined the Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo on an extensive tour of several agricultural, fisheries and agribusiness projects across the Kpando constituency.
The delegation visited the abandoned irrigation project at Kpando Tokor, the thriving Afarinik Sustainable Cocoa Farms, Tropigha Farms at Gbefi, and several cashew, citrus and oil palm plantations at Gadza, among other productive enterprises contributing significantly to the local economy.

The MP believes these private sector initiatives possess enormous growth potential if adequately integrated into government flagship programmes.
“My aim is to help these privately-owned entities tap into government flagship projects in order to expand and generate employment for our teeming unemployed youth,” he stated.
The Kpando legislator’s hands-on approach demonstrates a deliberate shift from conventional political engagement to strategic development facilitation, where parliamentary representation goes beyond legislation to actively mobilising opportunities for constituents.

His agenda, captured under the slogan “Repair, Revive and Restore”, seeks to unlock Kpando’s agricultural potential while simultaneously strengthening local industries and improving livelihoods.
With agriculture remaining one of the constituency’s strongest economic pillars, Mr Deh believe enhanced government support for farmers, agribusinesses and value chain actors could transform Kpando into a major agro-industrial hub within the Volta Region.
For many residents, Mr Deh’s recent engagements signal an emerging development model that prioritises partnerships, investment attraction and practical interventions capable of delivering sustainable economic benefits.
“We are making progress,” the MP affirmed, expressing optimism that sustained collaboration between government institutions and local businesses will accelerate Kpando’s socio-economic transformation.

As Ghana pursues its broader economic recovery agenda, Kpando appears determined not to be left behind, with its Member of Parliament actively positioning the constituency to seize every available opportunity for growth and prosperity.
