Arsenal FC are English Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years after title rivals Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
The result confirmed Arsenal as champions with an unassailable lead at the top of the table heading into the final round of matches, ending the club’s long wait for league glory since the famous “Invincibles” season under Arsène Wenger in 2004.
Managed by Mikel Arteta, the Gunners finally ended Manchester City’s dominance after several near misses in recent seasons, producing a campaign marked by consistency, defensive discipline and attacking brilliance.
Arsenal’s decisive title push came after a crucial victory in their previous league outing, putting pressure on City, who needed a win against Bournemouth to keep the race alive. However, Pep Guardiola’s side failed to secure maximum points, officially handing the title to the North London club.
The triumph marks Arsenal’s fourth Premier League title and Arteta’s first league crown since taking charge of the club in 2019, completing a remarkable transformation of the team into one of Europe’s most formidable sides.
Celebrations erupted across London moments after the final whistle in Bournemouth, with jubilant supporters flooding the streets and gathering around the Emirates Stadium to celebrate the club’s long-awaited success.
Attention now shifts to Europe as Arteta and his players prepare for the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain on May 30 in Hungary, with Arsenal hoping to cap a memorable season with continental glory.
