Ghana’s Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has paid glowing tribute to the outgoing Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Ms. Berenice Owen-Jones, describing her as a steadfast partner whose diplomatic leadership significantly deepened relations between Ghana and Australia over the past four years.

The Minister made the remarks after receiving the Australian envoy at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources as she paid a farewell call to mark the end of her diplomatic assignment in Ghana.
In a message shared on his official social media platform, Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah expressed appreciation for the High Commissioner’s commitment to advancing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the sustainable management of Ghana’s natural resources.

“I had the pleasure of receiving the outgoing Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Ms. Berenice Owen-Jones, at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources as she concludes her remarkable four-year diplomatic tour in Ghana,” the Minister wrote.
He noted that throughout her tenure, Ambassador Owen-Jones had been “a steadfast partner in our bilateral relations,” highlighting her pivotal role and diplomatic leadership in strengthening Ghana-Australia cooperation.
The Minister further commended the outgoing envoy for her unwavering dedication and collaborative approach, which he said had contributed meaningfully to Ghana’s natural resources sector and broader development agenda.
“On behalf of the Ministry and the Government of Ghana, I want to express my profound gratitude for her dedication, collaborative spirit and contributions to the sustainable development of our natural resources,” Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah stated.
The Minister wished Ambassador Owen-Jones success in her future endeavours, expressing confidence that the strong bonds forged during her tenure would continue to serve as a solid foundation for enhanced cooperation between Ghana and Australia.

Ambassador Owen-Jones concludes her four-year diplomatic mission having played a key role in fostering closer engagement between the two countries across governance, trade, mining, education and sustainable development, reinforcing the longstanding friendship between Ghana and Australia.
