Go Energy Board Inaugurated with bold transformational mandate

The newly constituted board of Go Energy Company Limited, a subsidiary of GOIL PLC has been inagurated in Accra with the charge to become the most reliable Bulk Distributor in the country.

Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor who inaugurated the board on Friday, May 16, 2025 challenged members to transform Go Energy into the most valuable player in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector by positioning it as the preferred BDC for government-related transactions.

“Go Energy should aim to be the primary BDC for government and the most reliable BDC in the downstream sector. Unfortunately, the company has been saddled with debt, like most state-owned enterprises.

“You have to come up with innovative ways to improve efficiency and the financial position of the company. His Excellency the President has absolute trust and confidence in this board. You have my full support and maximum cooperation,” he stated.
In response, the newly appointed Chairman of the Board, Yaw Akoto, expressed his appreciation to the President and the Minister for the confidence reposed in them. He pledged the board’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate with dedication and integrity.

“It is an honour to accept this role as Chairman of the Board. It is a pivotal subsidiary of Goil Plc. We aim to be the best BDC in the energy sector in line with the goals of the company. We will deliver on our mandate and work with integrity,” he said.
