The Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, will present the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament on Thursday, July 23, 2026, Deputy Majority Leader Kweku Ricketts-Hagan has announced.
The announcement was made on Tuesday when the Deputy Majority Leader presented the Business Statement for this week ending Friday, July 17, 2026, on behalf of the Leader of Government Business, Mahama Ayariga, on the floor of Parliament.
According to the Business Statement, the presentation of the Mid-Year Budget Review forms part of Parliament’s scheduled business for next week and is expected to provide Members with an update on the performance of the economy during the first half of the 2026 fiscal year.
The review is also expected to outline the government’s fiscal performance, revenue mobilisation, expenditure trends, debt management, macroeconomic outlook and any policy adjustments considered necessary to sustain economic recovery and fiscal stability.
The Mid-Year Budget Review is a key constitutional and statutory requirement that enables the Finance Minister to update Parliament on the implementation of the national budget, assess progress against fiscal targets and present revised projections where necessary.
The presentation is expected to attract significant attention from lawmakers, businesses, investors and development partners, as it will provide an assessment of the government’s economic management since the approval of the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy.
Following the presentation, Members of Parliament are expected to debate the review in the House before any supplementary estimates or policy measures arising from the updated fiscal outlook are considered.
Parliament is expected to sit throughout the week to consider a number of legislative and oversight matters, with the Mid-Year Budget Review serving as one of the major highlights of next week’s business.
