Ghana Embassy in France Deepens Diaspora Engagement with Town Hall, Consular Outreach

The Embassy of Ghana in France is intensifying efforts to strengthen relations with the Ghanaian diaspora through a strategic Town Hall Meeting and Consular Outreach programme aimed at bringing citizens closer to the country’s national development agenda.

The initiative, scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Lyon, forms part of the Embassy’s broader strategy to ensure that Ghanaians living across France remain active stakeholders in President John Dramani Mahama’s Reset Agenda while benefiting from improved consular services.

The exercise being spearheaded by Ghana’s Ambassador to France, H.E. Mavis Ama Frimpong, is expected to provide a platform for open dialogue between the Mission and the Ghanaian community on government policies, investment opportunities, national development priorities and the role of the diaspora in Ghana’s socio-economic transformation.

The outreach also seeks to improve access to essential consular services, allowing Ghanaians outside Paris to engage directly with embassy officials without travelling long distances.

According to the Embassy, the engagement is designed to foster inclusiveness by carrying every Ghanaian along, irrespective of political affiliation or social status, while encouraging the diaspora to contribute meaningfully to national development.

The Town Hall Meeting is expected to highlight ongoing reforms under the Mahama administration, including measures to promote investment, tourism, digital public services and stronger partnerships between Ghana and its citizens abroad.

The latest initiative comes as the Embassy continues an aggressive diplomatic and economic campaign to position Ghana as a preferred destination for trade, tourism and investment.

Since Ambassador Frimpong assumed office, the Mission has rolled out several initiatives to market Ghana internationally, including business and investment promotion campaigns, trade and tourism engagements, cultural diplomacy programmes, and networking events connecting French investors with opportunities in Ghana. The Embassy has also intensified efforts to promote Ghana’s tourism potential, facilitate investment opportunities and strengthen commercial ties between Ghana and France.

The Mission has equally deepened bilateral cooperation through high-level diplomatic engagements with French institutions, the diplomatic corps, international organisations and the private sector, all aimed at advancing Ghana’s economic diplomacy and enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

Diaspora engagement remains central to Ambassador Frimpong’s diplomatic agenda, with the Embassy maintaining regular interactions with Ghanaian associations and community groups across France to address their concerns and encourage their active participation in Ghana’s development.

The Lyon Town Hall Meeting represents another important milestone in strengthening the bond between Ghana and its citizens in France while reinforcing the government’s vision of leveraging the expertise, investments and global networks of the diaspora to support sustainable national development and build a more prosperous Ghana for all.
