Prof Nana Ama Browne Klutse Elected Global President of NDC Proforum, Pledges Inclusive, Impact-Driven Leadership

Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Authority, Professor Nana Ama Browne Klutse has been elected Global President of the National Democratic Congress Professionals Forum (NDC Proforum), securing a decisive 91% endorsement at the just-ended 6th Annual Summit of the forum in Accra.

Her election marks a significant moment for the Proforum, as members entrust the distinguished academic and climate scientist with steering the professional wing of the party toward greater relevance, cohesion, and policy influence.
In her acceptance speech, Prof. Browne Klutse expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming mandate, describing it as a collective victory for members who believe in the forum’s purpose and future.

“This victory belongs to all of us who believe in the strength, the purpose, and the future of Proforum,” she stated, emphasizing that the responsibility ahead is shared.
She began her address with a solemn tribute to the late former president of the forum, affectionately referred to by members as “Daddy,” calling for a minute of silence in his honour.
Prof. Browne Klutse reaffirmed the founding vision of Proforum — to harness the expertise of professionals within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to support the party’s ideals and national development agenda.
“My goal is simple: to help build a Proforum that works for its members, for the party, and for the country,” she declared.
Addressing concerns about her capacity and availability, she assured members of her full commitment to the role.
“I will make time. Proforum matters to me, and I am fully committed,” she said, acknowledging that leadership success would depend on collective effort rather than individual action.

Outlining her vision, the newly elected Global President highlighted key priorities, including strengthening member welfare, expanding professional development opportunities, and fostering mentorship, particularly for younger members.
She also pledged to deepen inclusivity by activating regional and diaspora chapters, noting a shift toward naming chapters by country to enhance global identity and coordination.
On policy and intellectual contribution, Prof. Browne Klutse announced plans to position Proforum as the party’s leading ideas hub. This will involve the establishment of specialized working groups across sectors such as governance, the economy, education, agriculture, health, technology, and social protection.
“We must raise the level of thinking and conversation within the group. We must bring quality ideas to the table,” she urged.
Recognizing the political context, she underscored the importance of sustaining the NDC’s electoral strength, stating that Proforum would contribute through strategic communication, data analysis, and grassroots engagement.
She also placed strong emphasis on youth engagement, revealing plans to intensify campus outreach programs to attract and nurture the next generation of professionals aligned with the party’s vision.
Transparency and accountability, she noted, would be central to her administration, with commitments to improved coordination, inclusive decision-making, and results-driven programming.
“At this important point, Proforum has the opportunity to build something stronger, more relevant, and more impactful,” she said, stressing that the group’s actions would be closely watched as the party seeks to consolidate power.
Prof. Browne Klutse concluded with a call for unity and collective responsibility, pledging to build on the foundation laid by previous leaders.
“Let’s stay united. Let’s stay focused. And let’s move forward together,” she urged.
Her election is expected to usher in a renewed phase for the Proforum, with heightened expectations for professional engagement in party strategy and national development discourse.
