Ablekuma North MP Extends Decade-Long Philanthropy with Expanded Ewurabena Projects

The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Ewurabena Aubynn, has once again extended her long-standing humanitarian work to support widows, widowers, single parents, orphans, and underprivileged school children through the Ewurabena Projects, an initiative she has sustained for close to a decade.

The latest intervention, carried out on April 11, 2025 through the Awula Foundation, builds on years of community-based support led by the MP even before she entered public office. The programme continues to provide direct assistance to vulnerable groups, including educational sponsorship for needy students and apprenticeship opportunities aimed at equipping beneficiaries with employable skills.

Saturday’s outreach, which formed part of the broader Ewurabena Projects, reaffirmed Ewurabena Aubynn’s commitment to improving the welfare of disadvantaged households within the constituency. Beneficiaries included widows and widowers facing economic hardship, as well as school children struggling to remain in the classroom due to financial constraints.

Since assuming office on July 22, 2025, the lawmaker has expanded the reach of her interventions, integrating her private philanthropic efforts into a more structured constituency-wide development agenda.

Key among her initiatives is the establishment of the Ablekuma North Sports Union and the Ablekuma North Supporters Union, platforms designed to unearth local talent, engage the youth, and promote community spirit through sports and volunteerism, while also supporting national teams.

In the education sector, Aubynn has facilitated the distribution of hundreds of pieces of furniture to schools across the constituency, including Wesley Grammar Senior High School, helping to improve classroom conditions and enhance teaching and learning.

She has also maintained oversight of ongoing road and drainage projects in the area, a move residents say demonstrates her practical approach to addressing infrastructure deficits such as flooding and poor road networks.

Speaking during the outreach, Aubynn emphasized that her interventions are driven by a commitment to dignity and opportunity for all.

“This is about people, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has the chance to live a better life,” she stated.

For many residents, the continuity of the Ewurabena Projects reflects a rare consistency in leadership one that bridges personal compassion with public responsibility.

As she approaches her first year in office, the Ablekuma North MP’s approach signals not just a series of isolated initiatives, but a sustained effort to embed social support and community development at the heart of her leadership.
