NPP Government Committed Economic Atrocities against Ghanaians – Felix Kwakye Ofosu

Presidential Spokesperson and Minister of State in-charge of Government Commnication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has noted with worrying concerns that the ertswhile NPP administration committed econmoic atrocities against the people of Ghana during the eight years in power.

Contributing to the 2025 Budget and policy statement presented by the Finance on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday 19 March, the Minister noted that, signs of the waste superintended over the Akufo-Addo Nawumia government includes the payment of several judgement debts.

Mr Kwakye Ofosu revealed that the 2025 budget allocated only Ghc 2.7 milloin to the Office of the President far more less than what was allocated to the Presidency in 2024.

The Minister who is also the Member of Parliament for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese constituency also debunked the claim that an amont of Ghc 78 million has been allocated to the office of Government Commnications.

He explained that the allocation is meant for three agencies namely; Ghana News Agency , Information Services Department (ISD) and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) comprising over 2, 500 civil servants.

Another allegation debunked by Mr Kwakye was the claim that, Ghc 50 million was allocated to the office of the President for research purposes.

President Mahama he said is cutting cost by running a leaner government as compared to the era of President Akufo-Addo who runned a very huge Government communication outfit.

According to him, the entire Goverment Commnication today under President Mahama comprise of only seven (7) individuals as compared to 106 under the Akfo-Addo regime.
