New Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz has announced a 28-man squad for the Black Stars’ World Cup preparation camp scheduled for May 25 to June 2, 2026, as Ghana intensifies preparations ahead of the FIFA World Cup in North America.
The squad blends experienced internationals with exciting young talents, reflecting Queiroz’s plans to build a competitive side capable of making an impact on the global stage.
Captain Jordan Ayew headlines the squad alongside key figures including Thomas Partey, Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo and Kamaldeen Sulemana.
The call-up also includes several emerging players who impressed during the European season, among them Ernest Nuamah, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Prince Kwabena Adu.
Defensively, Queiroz has maintained faith in experienced campaigners such as Alexander Djiku, Baba Rahman and Jerome Opoku, while midfield responsibilities will largely rest on the shoulders of Partey, Elisha Owusu and Kwasi Sibo.
The Portuguese trainer, who has previously managed Portugal, Iran, Egypt and South Africa, is expected to use the camp for the friendlies against Wales to assess tactical combinations and fitness levels before finalising his squad for the Mundial.
