The Member of Parliament for Biakoye, Jean-Marie Formadi, has been honoured by the people of Nkonya-Tayi with the title of “Development Queen” in recognition of her commitment to improving living standards in the area.
The lawmaker was enstooled as Nkosuohemaa — a title reserved for individuals who champion development — and given the stool name Nana Afua Asantewaa Ansedenfoso I, marking a significant endorsement of her grassroots impact beyond parliamentary duties.
In a Facebook post expressing her appreciation, Lady JM as the MP is affectionately known described the honour as both humbling and motivating.

“It is a great privilege to be installed as the Nkosuohemaa of Nkonya-Tayi, bearing the stool name Nana Afua Asantewaa Ansedenfoso I. My heart is filled with gratitude for this honour and for recognising the efforts towards developing our communities,” she wrote.
She further pledged to deepen collaboration with the people to accelerate development not only in Nkonya-Tayi but across the entire Biakoye Constituency and the country at large.
“I am inspired and ready to work hand in hand with all, to continue these good works in Nkonya-Tayi, across Biakoye, and for the progress of Ghana as a whole,” she added.
The recognition underscores the growing role of traditional institutions in acknowledging public officials whose work directly impacts local communities, while also strengthening ties between political leadership and grassroots development efforts.
Residents say the honour reflects their appreciation for the MP’s visible interventions and continued engagement with the needs of the constituency, positioning her as both a political leader and a traditional development advocate.
