Tano South MP Lights Up Communities With 200 Streetlight Bulbs to Boost Security

Charles Akwasi Asiedu, Member of Parliament for Tano South in the Ahafo Region, has distributed 200 streetlight bulbs to various communities in the municipality as part of efforts to improve security and enhance public safety.

Speaking during a presentation ceremony, the MP said the distribution exercise was carried out without partisan considerations, stressing that the initiative was aimed solely at improving lighting systems and protecting residents across the municipality.

He urged Assembly Members to ensure that the streetlights in their respective electoral areas were properly maintained and fixed to maximise the impact of the intervention.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Tano South, Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, commended the MP for the support and cautioned Assembly Members against selling the bulbs to residents.

According to him, the Municipal Assembly would closely monitor the distribution and installation process to ensure the bulbs were used for their intended purpose of improving lighting in the communities.

Mr Frimpong warned that any Assembly Member found diverting the bulbs would face sanctions, adding that he was confident the beneficiaries would act responsibly in the interest of the municipality.

Also addressing the gathering, the Krotrihene of Techimantia, Nana Ampong Koranmanteg III, encouraged Assembly Members to maintain regular engagement with residents in order to better understand and address the development needs of their communities.

The Assembly Member for the Bechem Adekyem Electoral Area, Joe Appiah, expressed appreciation to both the MP and the MCE for their continuous support toward improving security and development within the municipality.

He further pledged the commitment of Assembly Members to work closely with the local authorities to accelerate development and improve living conditions across Tano South.
