The President of Climate Communications and Local Governance – Africa (CCLG-Africa), Kofi Don Agor, who also serves as the lead climate advocate in the Parliament of Ghana, is set to speak at a special webinar marking World Earth Day.
The webinar, being organised by the Parliament’s Library Department, is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm GMT, under the theme: “Environmental Conservation: A Shared Responsibility for Sustainable Development.”
The event is expected to advance the legislature’s Green Library initiative, an effort aimed at promoting environmentally sustainable practices within parliamentary knowledge systems while encouraging broader public awareness on conservation.
Mr. Agor is expected to bring his expertise in climate governance and advocacy to the discussions, with a focus on strengthening institutional roles in environmental protection and advancing climate-conscious policymaking.
He will be joined by a distinguished panel of speakers, including Rev Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, who serves as Clerk to the Parliament and administrative head of the legislature, Rosemary Sarkodie Arthur, Deputy Clerk in charge of Information Management Services; Elvis Asare-Bediako, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources; and Jessica Adjeley Mensah, Director of the Parliament of Ghana Library.

Together, the speakers are expected to examine the shared responsibility of institutions and citizens in safeguarding the environment, while highlighting practical pathways to sustainable development.
Organisers say the webinar will serve as a platform for knowledge-sharing and policy dialogue, reinforcing the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges while supporting Parliament’s push toward greener and more sustainable institutional practices.
Observed annually on April 22, World Earth Day draws global attention to environmental protection and the urgent need for sustainable solutions to secure the future of the planet.
