Ghana Deepens Economic, Cultural Diplomacy in France – Ambassador Frimpong

Ghana’s Ambassador to France, Mavis Ama Frimpong, has outlined a series of strategic initiatives being pursued by the Ghanaian Embassy in Paris to promote the country’s image, attract investment, and deepen international partnerships.

Speaking during a courtesy call by a Ghanaian parliamentary delegation attending the ChangeNOW Summit 2026, Ambassador Frimpong highlighted economic diplomacy, cultural promotion, and citizen welfare as central pillars of the mission’s work.

“We promote economic diplomacy. We promote cultural diplomacy. We also ensure the well-being of our people while projecting Ghana positively on the international stage,” she stated.

A key highlight of the Embassy’s efforts, she revealed, is the organisation of the first-ever French-Ghanaian Business Seminar, held as part of activities marking “Ghana Month” in France.

The seminar brought together major Ghanaian institutions, including the Bank of Ghana, the National Investment Bank, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, and the Ghana Tourism Authority, alongside French businesses to explore investment opportunities.

According to the Ambassador, the event attracted over 80 participants and facilitated discussions aimed at boosting foreign direct investment into Ghana.

She further disclosed ongoing high-level engagements with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, particularly in areas of energy, environment, youth empowerment, and anti-corruption.

“We are already in advanced discussions with the OECD to secure support, especially financing for energy and environmental initiatives,” she said, adding that Ghana would soon formalise these engagements.

The Ambassador also noted collaboration with the INTERPOL, headquartered in France, as part of efforts to strengthen anti-corruption and security cooperation.

She emphasised that the Embassy’s approach is proactive and aligned with Ghana’s broader development agenda, driven by President John Dramani Mahama’s broad reset agenda.

“We assess Ghana’s critical needs and engage the right stakeholders in France to help address them,” she explained.

Ambassador Frimpong added that the Embassy remains committed to building partnerships that will translate into tangible development outcomes for Ghana.
