The Ghana Chamber of Mines has completed its pledged financial support to the Ghana Air Force (GAF) with a final donation of GH¢1.68 million, bringing its total contribution to US$300,000 towards the refurbishment of aircraft for national assignments.
The donation forms part of efforts to enhance the operational readiness of the Air Force, particularly in areas such as security operations, surveillance and emergency response.

Speaking during the presentation, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, Ing. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey, said the support reflects the mining industry’s recognition of the critical role the Air Force plays in safeguarding the nation. He noted that a stable and secure environment is essential for sustainable national development, including the growth of the mining sector, adding that the donation represents the Chamber’s contribution to strengthening national security capacity.
Dr. Ashigbey recalled that the Chamber made an initial donation of US$150,000 in 2024 at the Air Force Base in Accra and reaffirmed the industry’s commitment to honouring its pledge in full.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Ghana Air Force, Air Commodore Elvis King Arneson, Base Commander of Air Force Base Accra, expressed gratitude to the Chamber for its continued partnership.
