Mahama Reaffirms Commitment to Serve Ghana with Integrity, Urges Citizens to Play Their Part

President John Dramani Mahama has renewed his pledge to serve Ghanaians with integrity, humility and unwavering dedication, calling on citizens to play their part in advancing the nation’s development.

Addressing the nation during the 69th Ghana Independence Day celebration at Jubilee House in Accra on Friday, March 6, 2026 the President emphasized that Ghana’s progress cannot depend solely on presidential leadership but requires the collective efforts of all citizens.

“As your president, I pledge to serve with integrity, humility and unwavering dedication to the welfare of our people. But Ghana’s progress cannot rely solely on my leadership. It will depend on every citizen doing their part,” he said.

President Mahama urged Ghanaians to perform their duties with excellence in whatever roles they occupy, noting that national development rests on collective responsibility and commitment.

He also emphasised that the theme of this year’s celebration — building prosperity and inspiring hope should extend beyond the commemorative event and become a national mission.

Reflecting on the country’s journey since independence, the President encouraged citizens to remain committed to strengthening Ghana’s development for future generations while promoting unity across the African continent.
