Constituency Development: Mfantseman MP Donates Items To Communities

The Member of Parliament for the Mfantseman constituency in the central region, Ophelia Mensah Hayford has made presentations of various items to institutions and communities within her constituency following an earlier familarisation visits.

The MP presented items including roofing asbestos roofing sheets, normal roofing sheets, bags of cement to schools and some communities for the completion of ongoing projects.

The beneficiary institutions include the Saltpond Government Hospital, Egya No 1 and the Hini Community basic school and CHPS compound for ongoing  maintenance work on the roof of the school.

Others are the Nankesido Lower Town M/A basic school where she presented roofing sheets for works on the dilapidated roof of the school.

She also inspected the damaged girls dormitory block of the Saltpond Methodist Senior High School as a result of rainstorm and the kitchen and dining hall of the Kwegyir Aggrey Senior High School.

The Mfantseman lawmaker also inspected and donated 400 pieces of asbestos roofing sheets (plates) as her widows mite towards  the completion of the ongoing works on the Kormantse community center project which is being financed by the premix committee.

The MP who is also the Vice chairman of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament also made a donation of fifty bags of cement to the Chiefs and people of Egya No 1 for the completion of a community center project.

She was optimistic that the projects especially the community center projects, when completed will provide conducive meeting places for members of the community during social events such as funerals.

Hon Ophelia Hayford Mensah’s gesture follows the challenges she identified during her regular visits to communities within the constituency.

Heads of all the institutions visited and chiefs, elders and residents express gratitude to the MP for kind and prompt response to their needs.

The MP was accompanied by constituency executives, the Municipal Chief Executive for Mfantseman, Hon Issac Lord Ennu as well as some pollen station executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

 In a related development, Hon Ophelia Hayford Mensah held a meeting with constituency executives, polling station executives at the various electoral areas within the constituency and deliberate on pertinent issues concerning the Mfantseman constituency.
