The Jasikan Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Office of the Member of Parliament for Buem, is set to commission a number of development projects at various locations across the Buem Constituency.
The projects, which are at advanced stages of completion, cut across health, education, water, sanitation and digital infrastructure and are expected to contribute to the socio-economic development of communities within the municipality.
A project schedule released by the Jasikan Municipal Assembly and the Office of the Buem MP lists 17 projects earmarked for commissioning.
In the health sector, the projects include an Accident and Emergency facility at the Jasikan Hospital, as well as CHPS compounds at Amoako, Attakrom, Buem Odumase, Kudje and Teteman.
The education component comprises several classroom projects, including six-unit classroom blocks at Atwereboana M/A, Ketsi Nkawnta M/A, Bodada R/C and Jasikan Anglican School.
Also listed are three-unit classroom blocks at Dzolu and Teteman SDA, alongside an ICT Centre at Teteman, providing infrastructure intended to support teaching, learning and digital access.
The projects also extend to water and sanitation infrastructure.
A small-town water system is earmarked for Kute, Kudje and the Assembly, while the municipality is expected to benefit from mechanisation of boreholes.
An institutional toilet facility at Kute, Jasikan, and an abattoir at Jasikan complete the list of projects scheduled for commissioning.
The development initiative has also attracted attention from residents, particularly the collaboration between the Buem Member of Parliament and the Jasikan Municipal Assembly.
Residents have expressed admiration for what they describe as a cordial working relationship between the MP, Kofi Iddie Adams and the Municipal Chief Executive, Parke-Davis Madzigbe, saying cooperation between the two leaders could create a more coordinated approach to development in the constituency and the municipality for that matter.
According to residents, the collaboration has the potential to facilitate the delivery of projects that respond to pressing needs in communities, particularly in health, education, water and sanitation.
The range of projects also reflects an effort to spread development interventions across different communities rather than concentrating them in the municipal capital.
The projects, when commissioned and put into use, are expected to provide improved access to basic services and infrastructure for residents across Buem.
The initiative further highlights the importance of collaboration between elected representatives and local government authorities in translating development priorities into tangible projects for communities.
With the projects nearing completion, attention will now turn to their commissioning and subsequent utilisation to ensure that the facilities deliver the intended benefits to residents of Buem and the wider Jasikan Municipality.
