A medical practitioner, Dr. Robert Kofi Doh has been re-elected Youth Commissioner of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professionals Forum (ProForum), securing a commanding 96 percent of the votes cast at the just-ended 6th Annual Summit in Accra.
Dr. Doh polled 610 votes out of the 636 total ballots cast, reflecting a strong endorsement by delegates of the professional wing of the governing NDC party. His election forms part of a broader leadership renewal exercise aimed at steering the affairs of the ProForum over the next four years.
His decisive victory underscores growing confidence in his leadership among the youth bloc of the ProForum, with expectations high that he will champion youth-focused policies, professional development, and deeper engagement within the party’s structures.
Profile of Dr Doh
Dr. Robert Kofi Doh is a private medical practitioner, entrepreneur, and political figure from the Ho Central Constituency in the Volta Region. He holds a medical degree from the University of Ghana Medical School, and has built a career spanning clinical practice and healthcare management.
He has served as a house officer at major health facilities including the Ho Teaching Hospital and Tarkwa Government Hospital, and later worked as a medical officer at St. Joseph Hospital in Nkwanta.
In 2014, he founded a private health facility, Cedarville Hospital in Hohoe, which attained hospital status in 2018 and has since grown into a notable healthcare provider in the Volta region.
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Doh is actively engaged in community development through his foundation, the Cedarville Foundation, in supporting healthcare delivery, educational initiatives, and vulnerable groups within Ho Central and it’s environs.
He has organized medical outreaches, donated supplies to health institutions, and supported students and disaster victims.
Politically, he has been an active member of the NDC and previously contested in the party’s 2023 parliamentary primaries for the Ho Central Constituency. He has also served in various roles within the party, including on the Volta Regional Health Committee and as a campaign lead for the ProForum in the region.
His election comes alongside other key leadership outcomes, including the endorsement of Prof. Nana Ama Browne Klutse as Global President with 91 percent of the vote, while several other executives also secured decisive mandates.
The NDC Professionals Forum, known for mobilizing skilled professionals within the party, continues to play a strategic role in policy advocacy and governance support. Dr. Doh is expected to leverage his position to strengthen youth participation and align professional expertise with national development priorities.
