The Member of Parliament for Buem, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, has congratulated Rev. Msgr. Simon Kofi Appiah on his appointment as the new Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Jasikan, describing the elevation as a moment of pride for Buem and the entire Oti Region.
In a congratulatory message, Hon. Adams said the appointment goes beyond an honour for the Catholic Church and represents a significant milestone for the people of the region, noting that Rev. Msgr. Appiah is a respected son of the land whose life and ministry have long been rooted in service to community and faith.
According to the Buem MP, the new Bishop is widely known for his humility, wisdom, discipline, and moral clarity, values which have shaped lives across towns and villages in the Oti Region. He said Rev. Msgr. Appiah’s journey from the classroom to the pulpit has been marked by a commitment to building understanding and leading with integrity rather than personal acclaim.
Hon. Adams expressed confidence that Bishop Appiah will continue to inspire not only members of the Catholic Church but all who believe in the power of faith, unity, and service to society.
He concluded by offering prayers for strength, wisdom, and divine guidance as the new Bishop assumes his sacred responsibilities, assuring him of the pride and support of the people of Buem and the wider Oti Region.
