The Honourable Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North in the Greater Accra region, Ewurabena Abynn is set to officially launch the “Ablekuma North Sports Union” on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
The official launch of the gesture which forms part of the MPs quest to promote sports development, talent discovery, and healthy living among her constituents will take place at Kwashieman KFC Sunday evening.
The initiative is being rolled out by the Office of the MP in collaboration with the Awula Foundation, a development-oriented organisation committed to youth empowerment and community growth through sports and social interventions.
The Ablekuma North Sports Union is envisioned as a unifying platform to identify, nurture, and develop sporting talents within the constituency, while also encouraging active lifestyles, fitness, and community participation in sports.
The initiative aligns with broader efforts to use sports as a tool for youth development, social cohesion, and positive engagement.
Hon. Ewurabena Aubynn has consistently emphasized the importance of sports as a vehicle for discipline, opportunity creation, and improved public health. Through the Sports Union, the MP aims to create structured opportunities for young people to showcase their abilities across various sporting disciplines, while fostering teamwork and excellence.
The launch event is expected to attract sports enthusiasts, youth groups, community members, and stakeholders from across the constituency, as well as representatives from sports and development organisations.
Activities at the event will highlight the vision, objectives, and future programmes of the Ablekuma North Sports Union.
