As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares for its presidential primaries scheduled for the end of January 2026 ahead of the 2028 general elections, Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Dr. Stephen Amoah, is rallying massive grassroots support for former Assin Central legislator, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
Dr. Amoah believes Mr. Agyapong stands tall among the contenders and has demonstrated unmatched capacity in job creation over the years.
According the him, No single politician since the inception of the Fourth Republic has created more jobs than Kennedy Agyapong.
Dr Amoah made the declaration in an interview with journalists in Parliament on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
He argued that the NPP needs a leader with a proven record of empowering the youth through entrepreneurship and industrial initiatives, adding that “it is Kennedy Agyapong’s time to deliver the much-needed jobs for the teeming youth across the country.
The lawmaker also urged party faithful to “get Kennected” and vote massively for Kennedy Agyapong to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections, describing him as the candidate best positioned to restore hope and prosperity for Ghanaians.
The optimistic Stephen Amoah was convinced Kennedy Agyapong will convincingly win votes from the Western North, Greater Accra, Central, Ashanti and Volta regions as well as two out of Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions.
Dr. Amoah further advised supporters of all candidates to guard against insults and character assassinations during the campaign, emphasising that unity within the party would be crucial after the primaries.
“We are one family. After January, we must come together as one party to face our main opponent, the NDC, in the 2028 general elections,” he said
Mr. Agyapong is contesting the NPP flagbearer slot against four others, former Vice President and 2024 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; former party General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong; former Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum; and former Food and Agriculture Minister, Dr. Bryan Acheampong.
