Former Member of Parliament for South Tongu, Kobena Mensah Woyome has been appointed a member of the new Right to Information (RTI) Commission.
Mr Woyome, who is also a former Ranking Member on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture brings to bear the membership of the commission a wealth of experience in helping the public have access to information in a bid to promote an inclusive society.

President John Dramani Mahama who sworn in members of the commission underscored the importance of the Commission in fostering accountability and strengthening citizens’ trust in governance.
Dr. James Asante is Chairman of the Commission, Christina Edmund as Vice Chairperson and Shirley Lartey as Executive Secretary.

Other members of the seven-member Commission includes; Aba Edusah, Angela Emefa Kpegah and Chris Dugan.
The newly inaugurated Commission is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the Right to Information Act, ensuring that citizens can access public information, and promoting transparency across all public institutions.

This reinforces government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.
