The two newly elected Members of Parliament for Akwatia and Tamale Central have been sworn-in as Parliament reconvenes after almost three – month recess.
Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sana Kingsford Bagbin performed the official swearing in in accordance with provisions of article 100 of the constitution and Order 13(1) of the Standing Orders after reading out the Writ of their elections from Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.
Mr Bagbin who handed over copies of the 1992 Constitution and the Standing Orders of the House to the new lawmakers charged them to dutifully acquaint themselves with the rules of procedure to become effective in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Mr Bernard Bediako Baidoo was elected Member of Parliament for Akwatia on September 2, 2023 in a by-election following the untimely death of the then MP, Ernest Yaw Kumi whiles Professor Alidu Seidu Mahama was elected unopposed as representative of the people of Tamale Central as a result of the tragic death of Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.
