PETROSOL commends GRA for preventing GHC2.3 million diesel tax evasion

Ghanaian oil marketing company, PETROSOL has expressed its appreciation to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for its decisive enforcement action leading to the interception of ten trucks carrying 540,000 litres of diesel involved in an attempt to evade tax obligations.

The operation, which averted an estimated GHC2.3 million loss to the state, reflects a strong commitment to government’s ongoing efforts to “reset the system” and improve transparency and accountability in the petroleum sector.

PETROSOL described the GRA’s action as a welcome step toward curbing revenue leakages and promoting fair competition in Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry.

“We urge the GRA to sustain and intensify these efforts to decisively eliminate illicit practices that undermine fair competition and deprive the nation of essential revenue,” the statement read.

The company emphasised that a consistent and robust enforcement regime is essential to maintaining a level playing field for all legitimate Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs)

PETROSOL reiterated its unwavering commitment to compliance with all tax and regulatory obligations, pledging continued support for initiatives that strengthen integrity, sustainability, and good governance in the petroleum sector.
