The Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation (GIISDEC) has participated in the 2025 Korea-APEC Business Partnership held in Gyeongju, South Korea, from September 24 to 25, 2025.
The two-day event brought together global business leaders, government representatives, and investors for strategic engagements including one-on-one trade meetings, Global Project Plaza sessions focused on infrastructure partnerships, and value chain discussions covering energy and minerals.
cwas represented by Abdulai Batiah Santi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Strategy and Investor Relations, who participated in discussions on business matchmaking and investment opportunities in Ghana’s natural resources sector.
Santi used the opportunity to emphasize GIISDEC’s commitment to attracting responsible investment that promotes sustainable industrialization, value addition, and local participation in Ghana’s iron and steel industry.
GIISDEC is optimistic that engagements from the forum will lead to new collaborations to unlock value in Ghana’s extractive sector, drive technology transfer, and foster environmentally responsible mining and processing practices.
