The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) has announced the appointment of Professor Goski Alabi as the new Chairperson of its Governing Council.
A distinguished academic, entrepreneur, and higher education leader, Prof. Alabi brings to the position a wealth of experience in university governance, quality assurance, and leadership development.
Her appointment marks a new chapter in UMaT’s mission to become a globally recognized centre of excellence in mining, science, and technology education.
In her new role, Prof. Alabi will provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure the effective governance of the University, while promoting innovation, research excellence, and sustainable development within Ghana’s extractive sector.
Known for her passion for transformational education, Prof. Alabi has championed initiatives that bridge academia and industry, promote entrepreneurship among students, and advance gender inclusion in science and engineering.
