Tandoh Pledges Experience and Balance in New Role as Minerals Commission CEO

The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission, Isaac Andrews Tandoh, has pledged to lead the Commission with a focus on balance, experience, and continuity.

Speaking on Joy News’ PM Business Edition on September 4, Mr. Tandoh said his vision is to align government’s policy direction with the operational realities of mining companies while building on the strong foundation laid by his predecessor.

“A lot of good things have happened at the Minerals Commission. My predecessor built capacity, infrastructure, and systems that are solid. These are fundamentals we can stand on to drive the government’s strategic direction,” he noted.

With over 20 years of experience in the mining industry, Mr. Tandoh believes his background uniquely positions him to bridge national priorities with corporate productivity.

“If you ask what I bring to the table, I have been on the other side, implementing policies. I know what will be beneficial to the companies as well as the government,” he said.

For him, the role is not just about regulatory oversight but about striking the right balance. “I should be the person to balance government policies with what actually drives productivity and efficiency for companies,” he stressed.

Mr. Tandoh expressed confidence in his ability to guide the Commission’s mandate effectively, assuring that his leadership will be anchored on fairness, pragmatism, and results.

“I believe I am in the right position to advise government on some of the things it wants to do, based on my experience and where I am coming from,” he concluded.
