The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Ewurabena Aubynn has expressed her heartfelt condolences to the families of late Defence Minister, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Environment, Science Technology Minister, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Mutala Mohammed and six others.
The two deceased ministers of state perished in a fatal military Z9 helicopter crush on Wednesday August 6, 2025 alongside Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, Acting deputy national security coordinator, Samuel Sarpong, the vice chairman of the National Democratic Congress and Samuel Aboagye, a former parliamentary candidate for Obuasi East.
The rest are three helicopter crew member namely; Squadron leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying officer Malin Twum-Ampadu and Sgt. Ernest Addo Mensah.
In a tribute post on her X-handle, the Ablekuma North MP said she is deeply heartbroken by the national tragedy saying “Ghana has lost some of her finest patriots who dedicated their lives in service to our nation“.

My sincere Condolences. It is with profound sadness that I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the Honourable Minister of Defence, the Honourable Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, and the six others who tragically lost their lives in the Z9 military helicopter crash yesterday. I am deeply heartbroken by this national tragedy. Ghana has lost some of her finest patriots who dedicated their lives in service to our nation. Their passing is not only a devastating loss to their families but to the entire nation. In this moment of deep grief, I stand in solidarity with the bereaved families, the government, and all Ghanaians. May the Almighty grant eternal rest to the souls of the departed and strength to all of us as we mourn this irreplaceable loss. Ghana mourns. We will always remember.
