Parliment Considers Final Batch of Mahama’s Deputy Ministerial Nominees Today

The Appointments Committee of Ghana’s Parliament will today, Friday, July 25, 2025, hold public hearings to consider the suitability of the final batch of deputy ministerial nominees to hold office.

President John Dramani made the nominations in accordance with Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution.

The four nominees, who are all sitting Members of Parliament, will appear before the committee today.

They include:

Dorcas Affo-Toffey, MP for Jomoro – nominated for Deputy Minister of Transport

James Gyakye Quayson, MP for Assin North – nominated for Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

Mohammed Adam Sukparu, MP for Sissala West – nominated for Deputy Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations

Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, MP for Essikado-Ketan – nominated for Deputy Minister of Health

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, referred the nominations to the Appointments Committee on July 17 for vetting and consideration.

This session marks the final round of deputy ministerial vettings under the current administration. Upon approval, the nominees will assist their respective sector ministers in executing government policy and ensuring efficient public service delivery.
