Vice President Prof Opoku-Agyemang returns home after medical leave

Vice President pf the republic, Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has returned to home to Ghana after medical treatment in the United Kingdom.

The Vice President travelled to the UK on a medica leave for further treatment following a recmmendation by medical doctors at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) where sought initial care.

She was welcomed at the airport by President John Dramani Mahama, First Lady Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, the Vice President’s Chief of Staff Alex Segbefia, and other senior government officials.

Also present at the airport were the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church and family members of the Vice President.

the Vice President thanked Ghanaians for their prayers, expressed appreciation to her doctors and the medical staff at the UGMC, and acknowledged President Mahama and his younger brother, Ibrahim, for their support, thoughtfulness, and care.

President John Dramani Mahama last last Friday 16 May during his Thank You Tour in Dodowa in the Eastern region expressed gratitude to God for the Vice President’s speedy recovery announcing her return home.

“I’m happy to state that I spoke to her yesterday morning, and she will be back in the country before the end of next week. By God’s grace, she is fully recovered and she’s going to come and go back to her duties,” he announced.
