Deputy Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South, George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan has been sworn-in as Chairman of a nine-member board for the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) with a task to drive revenue growth in the highest standard of integrity.
Mr Hagan, a former Deputy Finance Minister is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear in mobilising the much needed revenue for the country’s development goals.
The new GRA Board Chair who is an economist and an investment banker obtained an MBA from the University of Chicago Business School , an MSC and BSC from the University of London and a CFA member the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute.
Other members of the Board include the Commissioner of the GRA, Mr Anthony Sarpong.

Inaugurating the Board, Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson emphasized the critical role of the GRA in national development, stating that government policies depend heavily on the revenue it generates.
He charged the board to lead with dedication and a strong sense of integrity, and called for decisive measures to combat smuggling activities across the country’s borders.
According to him, it’s time to look within and extensively raise domestic revenue to anchor government expenditure.
