Government Communication: PRINPAG Salutes Felix Kwakye Ofosu and Shamima Muslim

The Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has paid a glowing tribute to Felix Kwakye Ofosu on his appointment as the Minister of State in-charge of Government Communication and to Shamima Muslim on her appointment as the Deputy Government Spokesperson.

In a statement jointly signed by the the President and the Executive Secretary, Edwin Andrew Arthur and Jeorge Wilson Kingson, PRINPAG expressed confidence in the duo espousing their vast experience whic it believes would be brought to bear in addressing the several challenges facing the Ghanaian media landscape.

“The records of Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu and Madam Shamima Muslim in dealing with journalists are well known, and PRINPAG is confident that their vast experience will be brought to bear in addressing the myriad of challenges confronting the media landscape in Ghana. Their leadership in the government’s communication machinery will be critical in fostering transparency, accountability, and effective engagement with journalists”, the statement said.

The group assured of its readiness to work with the new minister and his deputy to enhance the welfare and safety of journalists in the country.

“As an Association representing the interests of newspapers and online news publishers across the country, PRINPAG is ready to work closely with the Government Communications team to enhance the welfare and safety of journalists. We urge Hon. Kwakye Ofosu and Madam Shamima to champion media-friendly policies that will create an environment where journalists feel safe and empowered to carry out their work without fear or intimidation. We further encourage them to welcome constructive criticisms and uphold the principles of press freedom, which are crucial in strengthening our democracy”.

The National Executives and the entire membership of the Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) extend their heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu on his appointment as the Minister of State responsible for Government Communications and to Shamima Muslim on her appointment as the Deputy Government Spokesperson.

The records of Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu and Madam Shamima Muslim in dealing with journalists are well known, and PRINPAG is confident that their vast experience will be brought to bear in addressing the myriad of challenges confronting the media landscape in Ghana.
