Afetsi Awoonor, has taken over the mantle of leadership as the Managing Director of Ghana’s strategic fuel reservoir, the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST).
Mr Awoonor becomes the 7th Managing Director of BOST succeeding the immediate past MD, Dr Edwin Provencal who has been credited for breathing a new breathe into the company and was adjudged the Petroleum CEO of 2022 at the 6th Ghana Energyargy Award.
Speaking at a short handing over ceremony at the company’s Head Office in Accra, Mr Afetsi Awoonor thanked his predecessor for his service to the nation and assured to take BOST to the next level.
President Mahama in a letter, signed by his Secretary, Dr Callistus Mahama appointed Afetsi Awoonor as the Acting MD of BOST in line with Article 195(1) of the Constitution, pending consultation with the Public Services Commission and the required advice from the Minister for Energy and Green Transition.

Afetsi Awoonor’s career spans almost two decades, with roles that have allowed him to influence industries and foster collaborations.
He is higly celebrated as having a significant expertise in structuring, negotiating, and implementing partnerships throughout Africa, especially in the energy and defence industries.
Mr Awoonor led JBW Limited, a company he founded in 2011 to operate across Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, focusing on defence and energy technologies. His work emphasized innovation, sustainable practices, and the importance of local partnerships
Prior to founding JBW Limited, Afetsi served as the Government Relations Manager for Ghana’s Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST). In this role, he was responsible for managing government-to-government (g2g) and business-to-government (b2g) engagements, ensuring efficient operations and productive partnerships.
