President Akufo Addo has inaugurated the 2024 Transitional team to steer a smooth transition of power from the NPP administration to the newly elected John Mahama NDC led party to form the next government.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Accra on Wednesday, President Akufo Addo explained that one of the functions of the transitional process is proper in ensuring seamless handing over of power.
He also revealed that the President-elect will receive daily security briefings as part of the transitional process.
He added that the transitional process, which results in peaceful transfer of power is an example of mature democracies.
He congratulated the President-elect John Dramani Mahama and assured him of his support in ensuring a a successful transitional process.
“We will ensure this transition happens seamlessly and with dignity”, President Akufo Addo assured.
The President -elect, John Dramani Mahama on his part, commended President Akufo Addo for hosting him at the Jubilee House on Tuesday ahead of the inauguration of the transitional team.
He said such gesture is commendable and reinforces the spirit of unity.
He charged the transitional team to be guided by the Transitional Act and ensure a spirit of collaboration, transparency and mutual respect.
“Adhering to the Act sends a message to the international community that democracy thrives in Ghana even in challenging times”, Mr. Mahama said.
He added “we pray that they will work within the confines of the law in accordance with the will of Ghanaians”.

Additionally, the President-elect has nominated Edward Doe Adjaho as a member of the transitional Advisory Council.

3. Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu – Minister responsible for Presidential Affairs

5. Hon. Henry Quartey – Minister responsible for the Interior
6. Hon. Dominic Nitiwul – Minister responsible for Defence
7. Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey – Minister responsible for Foreign Affairs
