Nicholas Nhyira Appiah Ministries Leads Intercessory Prayers for Ghana

The Nicholas Nhyira Appiah Ministries, headed by Pastor Chaplain Nicholas Nhyira Appiah in partnership with the Legislative Prayer Network and the Parliamentary Christian Fellowship on Monday November 18, 2024 hosted a prayer session for the Nation at Parliament House as the country goes into the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7.

Inspired by 1Thimothy 2:1 which admonishes citizens to pray for all especially those in authority, and a call by the Lord for renewal, the prayer session was aimed at encouraging Ghanaians not to despair in difficult moments but to rise up and reclaim their identity as the hand of the Lord is upon the nation (Isaiah 52: 2).

In an exhaustion, the Mortoway District Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church and the Lead Pastor of the Revival Center, Anyaa Market of the Assemblies of God church, Rev Christopher Kumah charged all believers to stay awake in prayers stating that the country will be doomed if the God factor is taken away from the affairs of the nation.

He declared that nothing untoward will happen to Ghana before, during and after the December 7 elections.

God he said has been merciful to the country over the years and guided her through the 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020 elections and will do same for Ghana in 2024 for a free, fair, transparent and peaceful exercise.

According to him, when God is in-charge, good things happen and happen in an orderly manner.

Rev Kumah said the 2024 elections provides an opportunity for Ghanaians to make a critical decision about the governance of the country to consolidate the country’s enviable record as an oasis of peace on the African continent.

Quoting Psalm 68 verse 1, Rev Christopher Kumah prayed for God’s supreme reign and destruction for enemies against the nation, “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered; let them also that hate him flee before him”.

He also quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.

Rev Kumah cautioned against complacency saying Ghana is not immune to conflicts and wars hence the need to pray.

Rev Nicholas Nhyira Appiah who led intercessory prayers for the three arms of government including the executive, the judiciary and the Legislature said the answers to the many challenges facing the nation are with the church hence the need for the church to pray for the politicians.

The church he said must be alive to intercede for the country against destruction.

He prayed for God’s direction and special favour upon the country’s political leaders during these trying moments of Ghana’s democratic journey.

The gathering prayed against conflicts deaths during this electioneering period, prayed for political parties, the electoral commission, the clergy and for Bawku.

Prayers were said for God’s protection to all presidential and parliamentary candidates as they go round the country with their campaign messages.

Special prayers was said for lawmakers with good heart for God to grant them peace and inner tenacity and help them retain their seats.

The group also prayed for the leadership of both caucuses, the speaker of Parliament,  Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin for the good Lord to preserve him at all times as well as the parliamentary service and all other supporting bodies.

The event which coincided with the launch of the 4th edition of the My Pledge Magazine by Rev Nicholas Nhyira Appiah was on the theme: “Let Your Peace Reign On Ghana O Lord (Isaiah 52: 2).
