The Ghana National Gas Company, Ghana Gas company will soon commence the building of a 290 kilometre gas pipeline from Takoradi to Tema, Majority Chief Whip in Ghana’s Parliament, Frank Annoh-Dompreh has disclosed.
According to him, the 290 km gas pipeline to be constructed will pass through four regions of the country namely; Western, Central, Eastern and Greater Accra regions.
Mr Annoh-Dompreh who is Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri in the Eastern region gave the discloser in a tweet on Thursday August 11, 2022 and stated that eight distribution stations will built as a result and one of them ( a mini-plant) will be stationed at Nsawam.
The lawmaker who is an environmentalist listed the towns in which the gas pipeline will pass through in Nsawam as: Damming, Nsawam, Nsumia, Fotobi, Amafrom, Sakyikrom, Anof, Owuraku, Afumkrom, Ahodzo and Doboro.
He expressed optimism that the project will create employment for the local residents in the catchment areas.
“It is imperative to note that Ghana Gas will recruit people to worl in every area the gas pipeline will pass through.
There is an ongoing ESI (Engineering and Scientific Investigation)’’ he tweet stated.
Ghana National Gas Company which is the leading gas company in Ghana is responsible for gathering, processing, marketing and transportation of natural gas resources.
It produces natural gas and gas based resources for domestic, commercial and industrial use and is a significant player in Ghana’s economy by saving Ghana millions of cedis and contributing to country’s power generation.
